Sustainable Dyeing and Finishing of Cotton Fabrics with Layer-by-Layer Technique

Large amounts of water, synthetic dyestuffs and chemicals are used in the wet processes textile finishing, at end these processes, liquors containing chemical substances create a waste load. For this reason, it is great importance to develop new wet-finishing that use less chemicals. purpose, layer-by-layer deposition method (LbL) was research as an environmentally friendly, sustainable can be minimize chemical, water energy consumption. The dyeing functional finishing cotton fabrics were carried out one process by LbL method. Cotton pre-treated with commercial cationic dye fixation agent charges produced on fabric surfaces. Reactive direct dyestuff groups fluorocarbon process. Eight 12 dye/fluorocarbon layered structures obtained using laboratory-type padder. dyed finished same dyes via padding both samples compared. washing, rubbing light color fastness properties, strength difference tested. Tensile strength, air permeability, SEM graphs, contact angle, oil repellency analyses performed for treated fabrics.
